The Advantage of a Patented System:
The security of any keyed system can quickly be compromised if keys are lost or not
returned. Controlling who has access to keys can be further compromised if key
blanks are available on any high street. Our Patented Euro Cylinders Series is protected by patents until 2026 and the manufacture of key blanks is restricted, making the unauthorised copying of such keys virtually impossible. Duplication of keys can only be carried out by us under a letter of authority.
THUMBTURN CYLINDERS are often found on classroom and office doors. The thumbturn allows you to lock the door from the inside while a key is needed to open the door from the outside.
COMMON SECURITY FEATURES
ANTI-DRILL
Stainless steel pins within the cylinder provide anti-drill protection where the steel from the drill bit is softer than the protective metal.
ANTI-SNAP
Anti-snap features help to prevent lock snapping (hammering the lock in a forced entry) but primarily leaves enough of the lock in working order.
ANTI-PICK
Some locks can be picked open using a hair pin or a paperclip. Anti pick locks are designed so that it is almost impossible to open the lock in that way.
ANTI-BUMP
Lock bumping is a technique used to open a lock using a special key to jolt it open. Anti-bump locks have a specially made key and more pins.
FITTING
Euro cylinders have the same dimensions and are easy to install and remove. The actuator in the centre needs to be turned with a key so that it lines up flush with the lock hole and then a screw in the frame of the door holds it in place.
1. Locate and remove the fixing screw on the side edge of the door.
2. Insert the key into one side whilst slowly turning the key to enable you to push the old cylinder out.
3. Measure the overall length of the cylinder and the dimensions either side of the centre hole.
4. With the key in the lock and the cam lined up with the cylinder, insert your new lock.
5. Secure the lock in place with the new fixing screw provided.
It is important to remember that the cylinder has an external and internal side which must be the correct way round when fitting the lock.
